How much do you know about chain grates andBeam Gratetheir structure?
Everyone is very familiar with the boiler equipment currently in use. With the continuous advancement of science and technology, the improvement and application of boiler equipment have also undergone significant changes. Now, the equipment of grate manufacturers has gradually realized an intelligent application model. Similarly, the selection and application of boiler accessories are also very important. How much do you know about the structure of chain grates and beam grates? Below, the editor from the beam grate manufacturer will help you understand.
1. Chain Grate: The chain grate is a lightweight grate suitable for boilers with evaporative grate plates. Its chain links are divided into active and passive links, connected by round steel rods, forming a wide chain belt around the front sprocket and rear roller. The active grate plates are responsible for the pulling force of the entire grate movement, so their thickness is greater than that of the passive grate plates, made of ductile cast iron. For a boiler with an evaporation capacity of 4t/h, a small grate and three main drive chains composed of active grate plates (on both sides and in the middle) directly engage with three sprockets on the front shaft (drive shaft). Passive grate plates can be made of ordinary low-strength gray cast iron because they do not bear pulling force.
2. Beam Grate: The beam grate is suitable for boilers with an evaporation capacity of 20~40t/h and above.
The main difference between this structure and the chain grate is the use of many rigid beams. The furnace door and grate plates are installed in the corresponding grooves of the beams, which are fixed on the drive chain. Generally, there are two drive chains driven by sprockets mounted on the front shaft (drive axle).
The advantages of the beam grate are: good structural rigidity, the grate plates are heated without bearing load, while the beams and chains bear load without being heated, making it relatively safe and durable.

According to the different calorific values of the waste, different air volumes are allocated to supply combustion air, and the drive of each section of the grate can be independently controlled, facilitating the independent control of the air volume and airflow in different combustion areas.
Each rowBeam Grateis equipped with an overlapping structure, preventing waste from leaking into adjacent grate plates, and there is almost no friction between the grate plates in the same row; the front of the grate is equipped with elastic wear-resistant scraping plates to reduce wear and extend the service life of the grate. The bottom surface of the grate is equipped with cooling steel plates, ensuring good cooling effect of the primary air, and the grate hardly burns.
The structure and movement mode of the beam grate are simple, not easy to block, with a low failure rate, saving a lot of maintenance and upkeep costs. The grate is replaced starting from the fourth year, with an annual replacement rate of less than 2%. The modular structure of the grate section is conducive to road transportation and on-site installation, allowing for complete assembly in the workshop, improving the precision required for on-site installation.
The rapid development of various technologies such as boiler waste heat recovery has promoted industry progress, significantly improving energy consumption and pollution reduction. The application of boiler energy-saving technologies is increasing, while also continuously innovating and developing.
