  1. Inclined reciprocating grate structure

Yongning GrateThere are two types of inclined reciprocating fire paths: one is the common ordinary slope reciprocating fire path, and the other is the water-cooled reciprocating fire path developed in recent years.

The general inclined reciprocating furnace mainly consists of fixed grates, movable grates, transmission mechanisms, reciprocating mechanisms, etc.

Yongning GrateThe entire combustion surface of the furnace is composed of a fixed furnace and a movable furnace, each occupying half, with these two gaps folded into a stepped shape, inclined at an angle of 15° to 20°. The fixed grate pieces are installed on the fixed grate beam, which is fixed to the inclined channel support. The movable grate pieces are embedded in the movable grate beam, which is placed on rollers supported at both ends of the fixed grate beam. The two bottoms of all movable grate beams are connected together with connecting rods.Yongning Grate, Chain Grate, Reciprocating Grate, Grate, Grate Accessories, Biomass Chain Grate, Boiler Grate, Scaly Grate, Beam Grate

After the motor starts, through the transmission mechanism, the eccentric wheel moves the movable furnace back and forth on the fixed furnace via the moving rod, lever thrust shaft, and connecting rod. The reciprocating stroke is generally 30 to 70 mm, and the coal is pushed backward accordingly. The motor is controlled by a time relay, adjusting the stop time according to the different loads of the boiler and the requirements of the coal.

The water-cooled reciprocating furnace mainly consists of butterfly cast iron grates, water pipe frames, transmission mechanisms, reciprocating mechanisms, and other components, in the form of butterfly cast iron grate plates and water pipe frames.

The water pipe frame consists of a row of straight pipes welded at both ends to the collecting box, with the front and rear collecting boxes connected by connecting pipes and drums, forming a circulation loop. Butterfly cast iron strips are embedded between the pipes of the water pipe frame, and the contact surface of the furnace and pipes is coated with water glass mixed with matching metal powder, tightened in a modular fashion, allowing water to flow in the pipes and cooling discharge with butterfly cast iron.

If there is a grate (also known as a residual furnace) installed behind the inclined reciprocating grate, the ash in this furnace basically burns the combustible materials inside, and then the fire basin is flipped to dump all the ash out. Due to severe air leakage in the furnace and complex wind regulation, it is often replaced with a water-sealed ash, discharging periodic or continuous residues. Yongning GrateWhen using coal with high volatile content and quick ignition in the inclined reciprocating furnace, it is easy to burn at the smoke coal outlet, and the bullet head is prone to smoke. To eliminate this defect, secondary air can be blown into the coal door to direct the flame onto the furnace. However, a more thorough solution is to improve the coal supply device under the coal bucket, allowing the coal to pass through a dense sand plate into the depths of the furnace after leaving the coal bucket, and then burn.

The inclined reciprocating furnace, like the chain grate, requires the arrangement of furnace arches to facilitate smooth coal burning and enhance gas mixing within the furnace. For the specific situation of the reciprocating furnace, a relatively simple inclined front arch can generally be used. When burning bituminous coal and lignite, some do not set a low and long rear palace, aligning the heavy palace or heavy grid wall with the front arch to help ignite new coal. The middle arch or middle partition can be completely vertical or downward vertical, inclined upward and forward. When burning coal balls, vertical rear partitions are often used, and some set up slag arches. That is to say, a small arch door extends from the rear wall, radiating heat to the burning area, allowing for full combustion of the ash.

  2. Combustion characteristics of the inclined reciprocating furnace

The combustion situation of the Yongning grate inclined reciprocating furnace is similar to that of the chain grate, with the addition of segmented air supply and appropriate secondary air. The combustion process also has intervals. The coal descends from the coal bucket, slowly moving from front to back along the inclined furnace surface, with air supplied from below to above. The heat required for coal combustion mainly comes from the furnace, going through multiple stages such as drying, dry pipe, volatile matter, coke combustion, and re-combustion, similar to the chain fire furnace. The inclined reciprocating furnace is characterized by the relative movement of the furnace and coal, distinguishing it from the chain grate. When the movable furnace is pushed backward, some new coal is pushed to the top of the already burned coal, and when the movable furnace returns forward, the already burned part of the coal is returned to the bottom of the unburned coal, heating the new coal. This fire condition is similar to that of hand furnaces but better than that of chain grates. The coal is continuously pressed during the pushing process, breaking the coking point and avoiding it. At the same time, the coal slowly rolls, loosening and flattening the coal layer, which is beneficial for combustion.
