Description: What are the characteristics of reciprocating grate? What to do if the reciprocating grate rusts? The reciprocating grate is a horizontal three-pass water-fire tube mixed boiler, with a bundle of threaded smoke tubes arranged in the drum. Smooth tubular water-cooled walls are installed on both sides of the reciprocating grate. A lightweight chain grate stoker is used for mechanical coal feeding, equipped with a blower and an induced draft fan for mechanical ventilation, and a scraper slag discharger for automatic slag removal.

Reciprocating Grate

The front and rear arches of the furnace adopt a new type of energy-saving technology arch. Fuel falls from the coal hopper onto the grate and enters the furnace for combustion. After the flame is refracted by the rear arch, it turns upward through the combustion chambers on both sides of the furnace towards the front smoke box, and the rear smoke box directs it into the boiler's tube bundle, entering the economizer through the rear smoke box, and then drawn by the induced draft fan through the flue into the chimney, discharged into the atmosphere. Typically, the chain grate machine is planned with multiple travel speed gears to adjust the coal supply, ensuring stable steam pressure during load changes. When moving quickly, the residence time of coal in the furnace is correspondingly reduced, often resulting in the appearance of falling red slag. If the residence time in the furnace can be extended, the carbon content in the slag will definitely decrease.

Reciprocating GrateIt is a component that stacks solid fuel in a boiler or industrial furnace and enables effective combustion. The entire grate mainly consists of a frame and grate bars. The grate bars are usually made of cast iron. After assembly, there are necessary ventilation gaps between the bars, and the bottom of the grate often has a separate adjustable air volume ventilation chamber, allowing air to enter the fuel layer through the gaps, with the ash being discharged manually or mechanically after combustion.

The reciprocating grate consists of a set of fixed grate bars and a set of reciprocating moving grate bars, divided into stepped and horizontal types. The reciprocating motion of the moving grate bars gradually pushes the coal layer towards the rear for combustion, thus this grate has a wide adaptability to coal types.

There is a small inclination angle between the reciprocating grate and the horizontal plane, and the grate bars produce periodic vibrations under the action of the motor and eccentric wheel. During vibration, the fuel layer continuously moves towards the back of the furnace, causing the ash after combustion to fall into the ash pit at the end of the grate. The characteristic of this grate is its simple structure.

Because summer weather is hot, with plenty of rain and humid air, it is particularlyReciprocating Grateprone to oxidation. However, rusting is also an oxidation process. Additionally, water molecules are relatively active in summer, making it easy for iron to rust when combined with oxygen molecules and water molecules in the air. During the operation of the grate, the bearings of the rotating devices on the main and driven shafts and the coal hopper should be regularly lubricated. Special attention should be paid to the lubrication of the bearings on the driven shaft to prevent overheating of the lubricant and evaporation. During operation, the leakage of ash and coal from each air chamber should be regularly cleared to avoid affecting the air supply, induced draft, and coal combustion. The removal cycle is about once a week.

There are three air chambers below the reciprocating grate, distributing air to the preheating and drying section, main combustion section, and burnout section. Generally, secondary air is added at the lower part of the front arch to prevent the flue gas from flowing back to the coal hopper. Practice has proven that a horizontal grate must be matched with a suitable furnace arch, especially when the water cooling degree of the furnace is high, it is necessary to ensure a high furnace temperature to stabilize combustion and improve heat transfer efficiency.
