In the water-filled ash channel, the circulating chain moves on the guide rail with the help of rollers and sliders. Scrapers are installed at regular intervals on the chain for transporting ashes. A large-section slag pipe is connected below the boiler slag discharge port. The ashes fall directly into the water-filled ash channel without passing through other conveying devices, and the red ashes are extinguished. The slag pipe should be inserted about 100mm into the water to prevent cold air from entering the furnace, achieving the purpose of water sealing and ensuring boiler efficiency.
The driving motor of the ash remover obtains a slower speed through a cycloidal pinwheel reducer. A tensioning device (equipped with a screw and buffer spring) keeps the chain drive in a tensioned state.
The ashes begin to scrape horizontally in the channel, then are conveyed to the inclined section, gradually overflowing from the water until they are transported to the ash hopper. The water absorbed and carried away by the ashes should be replenished in time to ensure normal water levels.

Steel pipes or angle steel can be set at the fine ash outlet below the boiler, introducing water from the end. When fine ash is discharged, it is washed into the ash channel by water along the steel pipe.

The chain ash discharge machine mainly consists of a drive device, ash channel, chain, and traction device. A brief description is as follows:
1. Drive device: The motor obtains low speed through a cycloidal pinwheel reducer and drives the star-shaped sprocket to rotate the chain through a coupling.
2. Chain: Includes chain links, scrapers, sliders, and rollers. Sliders and rollers serve as wear parts to protect the chain.
3. Tensioning device: Includes star-shaped sprocket and rear tensioning device, the chain should maintain appropriate tension. If too tight, it will increase resistance and wear. If too loose, it will cause periodic slipping, easily leading to chain hanging accidents. If necessary, a limit switch can be added. If overloaded, a collision switch can cut off the power to protect the chain's safety.
4. Ash channel: Includes ash body structure, guide rail, and ash hopper. Depending on the specific design, the channel can be set above ground or underground. A layer of wear-resistant material should be applied to the sides and bottom of the ash channel to protect the waterproof layer of the side walls and avoid leakage.
