Beam Grate

With the rapid development of urbanization in China, waste incineration treatment is increasingly used as a method of waste disposal that can save land resources, achieve harmlessness, reduction, and resource utilization. The beam grate plate has advantages such as low requirements for waste pretreatment, a wide range of waste heat adaptability, long continuous stable operation time, and simple operation and maintenance.Beam GrateThe plate has diverse forms, and its application accounts for more than 80% of the global waste incineration market.

The beam grate plate is the core component of the grate-type incinerator. Through reasonable grate structure design and material application, products suitable for the thermal characteristics of domestic waste are designed. It is a vulnerable part, and the stability of the beam grate plate plays a decisive role in the continuous stable operation of the incinerator, reducing problems such as grate jamming, abnormal wear, and burning, thus improving the operational stability and reliability of the grate-type incinerator.

  1,Beam GrateCharacteristics of the plate

The beam grate plate consists of mechanical grate plates. The design of the grate plate for incinerators requires a regular reciprocating motion of the grate plates, with relative motion between the movable and fixed grate plates, allowing the waste to be continuously turned, stirred, and advanced to ensure that the waste enters the furnace and comes into contact with hot air for heating, drying, ignition, and combustion.

The reciprocating motion of the grate not only allows the waste to move evenly but also effectively stirs the waste. The relative motion between the grate and the waste can release the burning waste and also serves as a stirring action, mixing the waste with combustible waste, which provides the elements necessary for ignition at the bottom of the reciprocating grate, improving the air permeability of the waste and enhancing the combustion conditions.

To ensure the continuous stable combustion of the incinerator, due to the complex composition of the waste, which usually contains elements such as CI and S, the furnace temperature is maintained at 950~1050 degrees, requiring the grate to have high-temperature oxidation resistance; the incomplete classification of waste leads to a high proportion of waste entering the furnace, resulting in a heavy mechanical load on the grate plate, which poses a demand for mechanical wear; after combustion, it turns into acidic gases, which have a corrosive effect on the metal material of the large thin plates.

Therefore,Beam Gratethe working environment of the plate is mainly affected by abnormal wear such as uneven wear. Additionally, the atmosphere formed after waste incineration contains high-temperature corrosive gases, and the waste load in the drying section is heavy, mainly affected by mechanical wear. The combustion section has a high environmental temperature, mainly affected by high-temperature wear, and there are not many combustibles in the combustion section, making solid particles easily mix into the gaps between the grate plates, causing corrosion; after wear, the gaps between the grate plates increase, leading to increased leakage of ash, which negatively impacts the thermal incineration rate of the waste; warping and burning of the grate plates, if the frequency is too high, will require a shutdown for inspection and treatment, affecting the operation of the incineration plant.

  2. Design requirements for beam grate plates

To ensure the stable operation of the incinerator, the material of the grate plates must possess high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance. The design of the grate plates must focus on structural and material aspects to improve the design requirements for combustion air, reduce the slag leakage rate, and minimize uneven wear and burning.
