  Boiler GrateThere are many types, and the shapes of grate plates are diverse. They can be divided into inclined and level styles based on the common insertion style; based on the running direction of coal on the grate, there is forward (the movement direction of coal is consistent with the incline direction of the grate) and reverse; based on the cooling conditions of the grate, they can be divided into water-cooled and air-cooled; based on the movement patterns of the grate, they can be divided into distance measures (the grate plates are divided into movable and fixed grate plates with distance configuration) and all measures, etc. However, there are currently two common types. One is inclined, distance measures, forward, and air-cooled (maybe water-cooled) insertion. The other is level, distance measures, forward, and air-cooled insertion.

  1. Inclined Boiler Grate: The tail of the movable grate is placed on a movable beam, supported by rollers at both ends. The aforementioned grates are connected into one unit, forming a moving frame, driven by a reduction mechanism through a crank wheel to move the pull rod, then moving the movable grate plates, with the fixed grate plates configured at a distance from the movable grate plates fixed on the channel steel beam. A beam is set up on the frame of the grate. Generally, there are 4-6 air chambers below the grate, which can adjust the air volume separately.

  The reason is that the width of the ordinary horizontal boiler grate is below 2 meters, and the length is 3.5-5.5 meters; the main frame of the grate is inclined at 12-20 degrees. The stroke of the movable level is about 50-80. Due to the inclined configuration, the overall height of the coal-fired boiler increases, leading to increased investment in boiler room construction.

  2. Level Boiler Grate: The structure of the level grate is basically the same as that of the inclined grate. The first difference is: one is the insertion on the left and right of the main frame; the other is that the shape of the grate plates in the coal-fired boiler is clearly separated, and the shape of the level grate plates is upwardly curved, arranged in a serrated shape.

  3. Combustion Characteristics and Air Distribution: The combustion process of coal on the circulating advancing grate and the air distribution is very similar to the chain rate. The difference lies in the relative movement between the coal layer and the grate, and the shape and measures of the grate create agitation of the coal layer, playing the effect of loosening the coal layer. Therefore, the adaptability of the grate to coal types is better than that of the chain rate. If the technology of the chain rate is also used, the combustion of low calorific value coal with a value of 12500kcao/kg, high ash content, high moisture, strong adhesion, as well as residues and waste in boiler combustion.
