  The structure and movement mode of the grate are simple, not easy to block, with a low failure rate, saving a lot of maintenance and repair costs. The grate plates are replaced starting from the 4th year, with an annual replacement rate of less than 2%. The modular structure of the grate section is conducive to road transportation and on-site installation, and can be fully assembled in the factory to improve the accuracy required for on-site installation.

  In the daily application of small boilers, grate failures are frequent, with a large amount of maintenance, affecting the normal use of the boiler. The causes of grate failures are multifaceted.

  1. The quality requirements are not high. To reduce costs, the side sealing iron of the grate often uses HT200, which has a low heat resistance temperature and is prone to high-temperature burning and deformation. Due to the high temperature in the furnace, heat-resistant cast iron should be used, such as RQTA122, where the heat resistance temperature in the air furnace gas reaches up to 1100. The main chain of the grate should also use heat-resistant cast iron to ensure long-term good mechanical performance.

  2. The manufacturing precision requirements of the grate are not high, with large errors. As a quick-assembly boiler, the flatness of the front and rear axes of the grate affects the resistance to entry and the average level of stress, easily causing the grate to snake and fragment. The adjustment of bolts on both sides during the operation of the grate cannot be referenced, causing inconvenience to users relying solely on experience.

  3. The working error of the active chain teeth of the grate is large, causing wear of the chain teeth. The grate tears due to uneven forces, causing arching, and the grate shaft bends. When embedded in the keyway, if not uniformly calibrated or assembled in the wrong order, the chain teeth become unsynchronized. For example, a 10t/h boiler can have a tooth error of up to 12mm, leading to frequent large-scale cracking of the grate during operation, and bending of the grate, necessitating checks that are time-consuming and labor-intensive.

  4. The dust removal device in the wind chamber needs improvement. Timely removal of accumulated dust in the chamber is beneficial for normal wind supply and cooling of the furnace beam. If coal ash is not removed immediately, it will burn in the high temperature of the furnace, damaging the furnace beam track. In addition to the correct and timely operation by the operator, the ash handling handle and rod must be labor-saving and reliable. The friction surfaces should be polished, fully considering the impact of thermal deformation. Additionally, the first wind chamber is for the preheating and drying stage of coal, requiring a small air volume, and is usually closed during operation. However, leakage of ash is mostly fine coal, which is flammable. Several boilers have repeatedly experienced over-burning deformation of the furnace beam, mostly concentrated in the first and second wind chambers. Therefore, when repairing, the first wind chamber is closed to prevent coal leakage, which has shown good results.

  5. The air volume control of the damper is rough. Due to the baking of the grate, the temperature of the damper is generally around 100, affected by expansion and contraction, leading to parts easily deforming, failing to close, and discrepancies between the opening and actual conditions.
